San Diego and SeaWorld

I had such a nice day today!! It didn't start too well when my train was delayed due to signal problems. So a journey of only 100 miles, which should have taken 2 hours, ended up taking over 3.5 hours. So i got to San Diego a little bit later than planned. But not to worry, i got there. It meant that i wasn't able to cross the border into Mexico though, but i guess i will just have to do Mexico on a different trip. San Diego is so nice, especially compared to LA. It reminded me alot of Southampton actually.

I explored for a while, went for a walk along the waterfront. Big Military presence in the form of Aircraft Carriers and the like. Well Cool. There was some rt of tribute to Bob Hope, which is apt given i must have mentioned him every other day for the past 10 years of my life - my good old Bob Hope and No Hope joke has served me well over the years.

I then headed for Sea World. I had my ticket already from Universal Studios in LA. It was well cool. The best bit by far was the Shamu Show. Killer whales doing acrobatics!! i Cried it was so moving. They are amazing creatures. Videos and pictures are on Facebook. The rest of the park was pretty good too, but the show stealer's really are the killer whales.

Had time to explore the gaslamp quarter of San Diego also. Very cool. I really like the vibe of San Diego. A cool mix of cultures.

I headed back to Anaheim s San Diego was pretty much fully booked due to Madonna playing her concert there tonight. Tomorrow I'm planning a laundry day, may take in a movie and just generally chilling out before i return to San Francisco on Thursday. Meeting up with Tom (the Tour Leader from the Yosemite trip) again there, so that should be a laugh. We are planning to get drunk somehow or another!!!!

On another note, today was election day. So Barrack Obama is going to be the next president of the United States. Will be very interesting to see how the next 4 years pan out!!! History has been made and i was here to see it. It was fascinating to listen to people today talking about the election. So many different opinions in a country this size!! I still think it should have been Hilary but that's just me!!!! There is a big movement in California also to remove the recently allowed Gay Marriage ruling. Good job i never met the man of my dreams in Silicon Valley eh!!! As it stands, it looks like they are going to vote for it to be overturned and make it illegal (for the want of a better word) again. Anyways its all by the by really. Just something that i was glad to be here to see in action.
